One of the things I’ve been looking at with some desire has been the “floating water bridge” that was on Boing Boing and PhysOrg.

Hopefully if I can get high enough voltage equipment I can replicate it. Thinking of using an ignition coil due to it’s relative safety and abundance.

You might try using a neon sign transformer as a high voltage power supply. They make good power supplies for Jacob’s ladders.
